Blurred Edges 2014: Drones and Pulses

We will be part again of this year’s Blurred Edges festival in Hamburg and will present an evening at the Mojo Club. Together with lots of guests we will play Terry Riley’s In C in another electric version (after the rock version at klub katarakt 2013). This time the drummer is Dirk Dhonau, and again there will be overhead projections by Katrin Bethge. The evening will open with some drones and an interactive smartphone composition by Guy Saldanha.

More later!

klub katarakt 2014

We are playing again at this year’s klub katarakt festival at Kampnagel, at the opening night on Wednesday, January 15: Hommage à Phill Niblock. We will play the world premiere of Niblock’s new piece Three Petals for three orchestras in three halls, with guest musicians Georgia Hoppe and Ignacio Fernández-Bollo. The other ensembles are Trio Scordatura from Amsterdam, joined by Guy de Bièvre and Harald Muenz, and Ensemble neoN from Oslo. Also on the programme Niblock’s Tow by Tom and Vlada BC. In addition we will also play do nothing, just wait, the singing will start…. sooner or later by Matthias Kaul, neoN will play Alvin Lucier’s Two Circles, and Trio Scordatura will play Time Zones 0.5 by Guy de Bièvre.

Also, don’t miss the opportunity to hear Charles Curtis performing Just Charles & Cello in The Romantic Chord by La Monte Young on Thursday, Jan 16!!!

And all the other fine concerts there.
